When first introduced, logic product offerings consisted of quad, hex and octal standard logic gates, inverters and buffers. As integration and miniaturization occurred, the demand for logic solutions continued to grow, but shifted toward “control” or “glue” logic.
Control logic allows seamless connections between highly integrated circuits and enables designers to add capabilities not yet integrated into the system controller. It supports last minute feature additions, and enables minor design corrections, thereby reducing the effect of any design changes on time-to-market.
